While mesh shoes were praised for their breathability, their practicality left much to be desired. Dirt, water, and cold air made these a nightmare for anything but perfect conditions. We’re more than happy to swap these out for more durable and versatile options in 2025. We’re seeing a lot more classic loafers instead, which are way more practical.

3. Long Denim Skirts

We love a nostalgic moment, but this Y2K revival has started to overstay its welcome. While some fashion-forward looks managed to make long denim skirts feel fresh, most just looked dated and impractical. Their stiffness and lack of versatility made them more of a hassle than a wardrobe staple.

4. Cowboy Boots

Cowboy boots were everywhere in 2024, from street style to high fashion. While they added a fun Western flair to outfits, their ubiquity made them feel overplayed. While undeniably cute, micro bags are impractical for everyday life. There’s only so much you can do with a bag that doesn’t even fit your phone. It’s time to make room for accessories that balance style with functionality.
